Lanzarote has so much to recommend it as a holiday destination, from its great beaches and climate through to excellent hotels and restaurants. Factors which all combine to make it one of the most popular vacation spots in Spain.
Tourists first started to visit the island during the 1970´s and at this time it was regarded as quite an exotic, new destination. By the 1990´s though this image had faded little and the island had started to become synonomous with package tourism. But all that has largely changed now – as independent travel has surpassed travel agents and holiday brochures thanks to the growth of the Internet.
This has also contributed towards an increase in demand for privately owned apartments and villas in Lanzarote. As many tourists now want to book their accommodation direct with the owners themselves online. It’s also now much easier to book Lanzarote flights online too – at prices often much lower then a couple of years ago.
Hotels are still very popular with visitors though despite the increase in demand for rental accommodation. There are over 200 Lanzarote hotels located across the island with the bulk of them situated in the resort of Playa Blanca. When you have a chance to visit Europe, surely Spain is one of the countries that are supposed to be in your list of the place that you should visit. It is because Spain is one of the countries with a lot of historical sites that you can enjoy as the part of Roman Empire some centuries ago. Walking in the Spain streets is able to drag you to the Roman era when Caesar once ruled because some sites are still standing perfectly.
After Scotland, Spain is one of the countries with a lot of historical castle that you can visit. Some example of castles that are still standing perfectly today are Loarre Castle which is built during 11th and 12th centuries as the symbol of assimilation culture between Christian and Muslim and Alcazar of Segovia with medieval architectural style which is famous because of its shape like the bow of the ship. Besides, castles, don’t forget some great sites such as Archaeological Roman Ensemble of Merida which once upon a time was used to be the center of art activity and regularly used as theatre to entertain the Caesar and people at that time. Barcelona is a very cool and easy place for travelers even for the neophyte ones. Spain’s Travel usually means a travel in Barcelona. Our family’s stay in this city is so full of adventure, great tourist places and great culture experience that staying for 10 days was not enough.
Experiencing the whole of Barcelona needs careful planning and time. You need to plan your itinerary very well with flexibility over some changes during your stay. We were so enamored with Spanish culture that we plan to follow the way Spanish lives even with only 10 days to do that. We planned to eat a Spanish meal, tried to have a Spanish travel tour and try to speak Spanish. I got to admit that with only a month of preparation I grasp little of the language. As soon as we arrive in Barcelona hotels travel early in the morning; we tried to get rest and agreed to tour Barcelona and start our Spanish meal the next day. Read the rest of this entry »

If there is one thing that I really like to do when I am on vacation it is seeing all of the beautiful buildings tucked away in all of the different countries. Spain though – especially Valencia is by far my favorite. Valencia is actually the third largest city in Spain and the buildings in this particular city are unbelievable!
Valencia holds some of the best ancient buildings that were built during the Arabic and Roman times and all of these old buildings adore the old streets of Barrio del Carmen.
