Lanzarote has so much to recommend it as a holiday destination, from its great beaches and climate through to excellent hotels and restaurants. Factors which all combine to make it one of the most popular vacation spots in Spain.
Tourists first started to visit the island during the 1970´s and at this time it was regarded as quite an exotic, new destination. By the 1990´s though this image had faded little and the island had started to become synonomous with package tourism. This has also contributed towards an increase in demand for privately owned apartments and villas in Lanzarote.
